A set of twelve murrine mosaic pendants. Each pendant is one of a kind and formed with a unique murrine. Murrine is an Italian glass technique where rods of glass are cross-sectionally cut apart to form thin tiles. The tiles are then pieced side-by-side onto a clear glass bubble, or a blank. The pendant is then formed to its final shape displaying beautiful patterns. Some murrine pendants look similar, but each image corresponds to its own specific pendant that is labelled and filed.
Each piece is created with 100% borosilicate glass. A common example of this glass is old school Pyrex kitchenware. So rest assured that this piece is stable and incredibly heat and corrosion resistant. All raw glass is premium, first quality glass color, and the pendant is created by hand in the Chicagoland area.
